About Jacqui
I’m Jacqui Lombari (MS, CNS-c), a nutritionist currently residing in Phoenix, AZ.
I believe nutrition is both a science and an art. It takes a great sense of curiosity to study the endless biochemical
reactions within the body. While at the same time, takes an empathetic person to discuss with someone about
something so personal as the food they eat. The coupling of these two micro and macro aspects of nutrition
creates a unique field that I am thrilled to be a part of.
I have the unique experience of working in various conventional and functional medical settings. Following five years as technician in the emergency department, I was determined to be part of a movement where nutrition was at the forefront of health promotion and disease prevention.
After living in Guatemala, the therapeutic role of nutrition took front and center in my life while treating Small
Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO). Soon after, I began and later finished my master’s degree in Human
Nutrition and Functional Medicine at the University of Western States (Portland, OR). As of now, I am working
towards my certification as a Board-Certified Nutrition Specialist (BCNS) through a Functional Nutrition Residency
Program with Dr. Kara Fitzgerald.
My passion for sports nutrition stems from my own experience trail running and training here in Arizona. This
journey would not have been a success without my nutrition education. I am looking forward to assisting others in optimizing their athletic performance through nutrition periodization, proper hydration and efficient recovery strategies.
In addition to this, I understand the importance of working with the physiology of female athletes and hope to provide the tools and support for all women in sports and health.
Additional interests reside in addressing inflammation that stem from imbalances (i.e., gastrointestinal and
immune) through whole food nutrition, nutraceuticals and botanicals. I take into consideration a broad range of
environmental and lifestyle factors and believe everyone has an opportunity to harness the power of nutrition in
their own health journey.
It was a privilege to work with Jacqui. I felt I was talking to a person who was genuinely interested and invested with enthusiasm for my goals. Jacqui’s creative approach to tackle my food insecurities while managing my goals was comforting and applicable. Jacqui responded to every question I had and challenged me to ask more. It fueled my desire to learn more! It was an honor to work with such an authentic person remotely. I can only imagine the impact Jacqui could have if she was in the same zip code!
